Steve McClaren says the football association should take restrospectivw action against players who dive. McClaren's derby host chelsea in the capital one cup on tuesday after blues defender Gary Cahillwass accused of diving during the 2-0 win against hull on saturday.
"if people cheat and do wrong they have to  suffer the consequences, " said former England manager McClaren
" they do it in other things, so why not for diving or simulation?"
McClaren, who has also had spells in charege of Nottingham Forest, Middlebrough and Dutchside FC  Twente believes diving should carry the same punishment as being sent off.
" it can cost you a game," he said. " all we can do is beat the drum. it keeps getting mentioned for years now and still nothing's been done.
"the key ting is, we don't like it, it's in our game and it's very difficult for the red to deal with.
"it's up to the aurhorities to do something about it and deal with it. it' in our game and it needs to be stamped out.'
